Dear Friends and Family,
I just wanted to thank those who were able to make it on Saturday to Dads service and how much it meant to us and to tell those of you that couldn't or who are attending the one "down home" about it. We had about 150 people attend through out the 4 hours. I put together a large display of dad's life. It was wonderful to revisit my dad's life. I actually became excited about the service and being able to share my Dad's life with others. I'm looking foreward to the service down there and the memories we will share. I haven't called yet so I need to get on the ball. My Mom, Cathi and I read eulogies and my husband, Ed read the kind replies sent into the paper after my Dad's Obituary came out. My daughter Geneva wrote a poem to her Grandpa and Jessica got up and spoke of how much she loved her Grandpa. The pastor gave a lovely short sermon about how we never know the future and we need to rely on God for our security. Janet, Mark her husband, Paul, Mark, and Billy all sang amazing GRACE. It was so beautiful and I didn't fall apart during my part, but I did cry when others spoke so wonderfully about dad. I think, I was able to really get across who my dad was. My Mom is really missing him and feels it most at night. Please pray for her its hard to lose your husband of 59 years. Thanks again, I will keep everyone posted about the one in Headyville.
Thanks again to those who came and I'll hopefully see the rest of you soon. Love Debbie
