What a week; we have been really busy. Finally Friday, we have finished our Special Learning Needs training in Mt. Vernon. Yesterday, we went to Keensburg, IL.
My old computer "L" shaped computer desk was really bowing in the center. I was afraid it was going to fall down. Yesterday, we were on a mission to seek a good desk! Well, we did in Keensburg. We bought a roll-top desk with a matching file cabinet. I'm so happy. No longer, will I need to gently type on the keyboard with the fear of the board under the keyboard will fall off. The old one frequently did.
The joy of buying ended with a lot of work...I spent the next 11 hours cleaning and clearing out the computer room. First we literally had to hack down the old desk and carried it out. Then we had to put the base part of the roll top together. Our house is small; therefore, we took it in piece by piece to put it together. In order to get the roll top in the computer room, we had to take the computer room's door off its hinges. Before we could put the top on the desk, I had dismantle all of the wires from the computer, monitor, router, phone, woofer, printer, and the fax machine. The reason being, all the wiring had to go through a 2 1/2 inch hole and plug in the 2 power strips. The power strips had to be plugged into the electrical socket, before placing the top on. After the top was put in place, I could no longer get behind the desk. It would take 10 men and army to lift the desk out. However, everything is up and running! Hurrah!
Thanks Charlotte for the lovely rose!
Take care,
Cindy
That sounds like a lot of work, but I'm glad you can type without fear now! ~jenn~
