Debbie just sent me this e-mail:
Dear Galloway Family,
I'm sad to tell you my dad( Uncle JC) went into the hospital Monday. He's been diagnosed with a fungal infection in his brain. He's slipped into a coma today. They thought at first that he had a swelling in the brain but it turned out to be rarer. He started getting headaches the day after we got back from the family reunion. With the headaches came weakness and dizziness. I thought at first that it was the Galloway Sick Headaches cause caffeine helped them. But he just got weaker. I took him to the Doctor and he ordered a CT scan. He had it Friday. The MD told me to watch for hallucinations, and other symptoms. They happened over the weekend so when I called the Doc on Monday they told me to bring him in to the ER. He rallied a little in the ER when they asked him what he was doing and he told them "running away". We are told to take it day by day. The Neurologist was kind enough to tell me that there was nothing I could have done to have prevented it. He also stated that a lot of people die from this because their families and caretakers don't realize their sick. The best case scenerio is that he gets over this and with the proper rehab he goes back to the way he was. This is hard but Our Heavenly Father is walking us through this crisis. He's at Woodstock Centegra Hospital ICU. Your prayers are most appreciated and needed.
Love and Hugs
Your cousin Debbie
