Dad is doing better then the doctors expected him to. The Infectious Disease Doctor told us that even if he recovers that this can reoccur at any time so we just have to pray. He's in ICU right now but he will be moving to a regular room upstairs on Wednesday. He's at Centegra Hospital here in Woodstock right off of route 14 on Doty rd. The visiting hours are between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Its a crap shoot whether he'll be awake and lucid or very sleepy and confused.
( for Charlotte and Cindy) They said we should expect some brain damage because the infection will have some lasting affects. I'm thrilled he's able to talk. After years of home care jobs I know how bad this can get and I consider it a blessing that he makes some sense. My siblings are a little unnerved by all this. I can't say that I blame them. Doctors are talking of moving him to rehab in another facility on Monday. Once again even though this is a type of meningitis it is NOT CONTAGIOUs. I freaked everyone out by wearing a mask cause I had a cold when he first went in. He's calling Cathi and I Debbie so if he's having trouble with names don't be surprised.
