In my genealogy books, Elizabeth and Samuel Galloway were persecuted for their religion. Erin Galloway Cooper stated they were Protestant, which is true. However, they were Scottish Covenanters. According to the website http://scottishcovenanters.org/ The king stated that he was to be the head of the church. However, those who refused the king to be a head of the church signed a Covenant. The Covenant stated that only Jesus Christ could command such a position, they were effectively signing their own death warrants. However, when Elizabeth lived in Pennsylvania, she was registered as a Quaker; as I previously posted.
